04/09/2012

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri lawmakers will have a short
work week when they return to the state Capitol.
No business was scheduled Monday because of the Easter holiday.
Lawmakers are to return Tuesday and have six weeks remaining before
their mandatory adjournment May 18.
House leaders say they plan to consider several constitutional
amendments, including proposals on initiative petitions, guns and a
property tax exemption.
In the Senate, the Appropriations Committee is continuing
discussion about the upcoming year's budget. The committee has
scheduled a budget hearing for noon on Tuesday.
