A Lancaster man has been bound over to Doniphan County District Court on a charge of aggravated battery stemming from the alleged abuse of a young girl.
25-year-old Brandon Mottin waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Arraignment was set for June 6th before District Judge John Weingart.
The two-year-old daughter of Mottin’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Cassie Collins of Highland, was taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital on April 4th with severe burns and bruises.
After an initial examination, the child was transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she was a patient for two weeks.
Collins pleaded guilty last week in Doniphan County District Court to a felony charge of aggravated endangerment of a child. She is to be sentenced June 6th.
Mottin remains in the Doniphan County Jail on $100,000 bond and Collins on $50,000 bond.

They should have left him to rot. On April 1st, 2018 he was at my elderly mothers home, high on meth and destroying her property,he had conned several hundred dollars from her and had her in fear. They never should have let him out in the first place.
