A one day shutdown of water service, in the City of Powhattan, is planned for Tuesday.
When the Water Supply System is shut-off, only those households and businesses south and west of the city park are expected to be affected.
Powhattan water customers are advised to use bottled water, or boil water to be consumed, until testing by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment confirms that no contamination occurred during the shutdown.
The test results are expected to be completed by Friday.
The City of Powhattan will provide water service customers with the findings by posting them at the Post Office, Ag Partners, and through announcements on this radio station.
