Nebraska won the Border War baseball games in Falls City this weekend. The American Legion Junior squads from Falls City, Auburn and Tecumseh posted wins on Sunday following round robin play on Saturday.
Saturday Falls City beat Auburn 10-2 and beat Tecumseh 18-0 behind the run rule shortened no-hitter pitched by Jordy Stoller. Tecumseh defeated Auburn Saturday 2-1.
In the Kansas teams portion of the tournament on Saturday Doniphan County beat Holton 12-2 and Sabetha 7-5. Sabetha defeated Holton 14-3.
In the game for fifth place on Sunday Auburn outscored Holton 20-19. Brody Clark led Auburn with 3 hits and 5 RBI’s. Tyler Ebler had 3 hits and 4 stolen bases in the game and Tony Knudson had a pair of hits and 3 steals.
Holton scored their 19 runs on 9 hits and 14 walks issued by Auburn pitchers.
Tecumseh defeated Sabetha in the game for third plance 12-3. Josh Crane was the winning pitcher and helped his own cause with 3 hits, scored 3 runs and he stole two bases. Colton Gartner added a pair of hits including a grand slam homer.
In the title game Falls City beat Doniphan County 10-6. Logan Scheitel was the winning pitcher for Falls City. Austin Malone walked 3 times and stole 3 bases for Falls City. Chase Thompson drove in 5 runs with a pair of hits.
