Hiawatha Fire Battled Sunday
06/04/2012

The investigation into the cause of a Hiawatha fire is continuing, following the blaze that broke out Sunday afternoon.

Fire Chief Bill Roland says his crews were called to the structure, at 201 South First Street, shortly after 2:30 in the afternoon.

Successfully extinguishing the fire by early evening, they returned to the scene Monday morning when insulation was found to be smoldering.

The State Fire Marshall's office is heading up the investigation.

The building is owned by Paul Bent.

No injuries are reported.
