Jack Newman, former executive vice president at Cerner Corporation and founder of Jack Newman Advisory Services, was elected chairman of the Benedictine College Board of Directors during its June 8 meeting on the college campus in Atchison.
Newman follows Jim O’Brien, who retired from the board following 18 years of service, 8 as chairman.
Newman served on the Advisory Board for the Benedictine College School of Business for four years before joining the college’s Board of Directors in 2007.
Newman was with Cerner from January 1996 through June 2008.
In his role as Executive Vice President, among other responsibilities, he served as the primary senior executive charged with establishing and overseeing relationships with Cerner’s largest domestic clients.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in 1970 from St. Benedict’s College, now Benedictine College.
He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, and is a CPA.
