Sen. Nelson Expresses Concerns About Potential Health Care Ruling
06/21/2012

The U-S Supreme Court continues to review the Affordable Health Care Act and will soon rule if it is constitutional. Nebraska U-S Senator Ben Nelson supports the act and questions how the court is approaching the issue.  (play audio  :30  “on both sides.”)
Senator Nelson says his gut feeling is that the court will strike the law down. (play audio  :25   “constitutional analysis.”)
Senator Nelson says that would have a tremendous impact on Nebraskans. Young adults currently on their parent's health insurance will be on their own. (play audio  :27   “parent’s coverage.”)
Senator Nelson says he’s also concerned about children with pre-existing conditions.  (play audio  :13  “to gain coverage.”)
Senator Nelson also expresses concern about the state's senior citizens or those who can't afford health insurance.  (play audio  :21   “their doctors.”)
Senator Nelson also fears that if the Affordable Health Care Act is struck down, lifetime dollar limits on health care benefits will be back and that would drive many into bankruptcy when they reached the cut off.  He calls it basically playing politics with people's lives.
