GIRLS
D-West 39 - Riverside 20
Mustang freshman Regan Gibson came off the bench and provided a huge spark in the second quarter as D-West pulled away and took a 20-13 halftime lead. Gibson scored 6 of her 12 in the frame and also made the only two Mustang free throws of the night and added 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Abbi Ellis added 12 as Doniphan West improved to 11-5 overall and 7-4 in the Delaware Valley League. Riverside girls made just one field goal the second half and fell to 9-10.
BOYS
Riverside 63 - D-West 51
After falling down 5-0 to start the game, Riverside took their initial lead 9-8 at the end of the first quarter and never trailed again. Leading 25-19 at the break, the Cyclones put the game away outscoring D-West 23-8 in the third stanza. Derek Nold scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half in route to a double-double earned Player of the Game honors. Paden Halter added 12 including the first 5 of the second half, and Zach Halter chipped in 10 as the Cylones improved to 10-8 and 5-7 in league action. Marc Ellis scored 17 of his game high 27 in the final quarter and Luke Twombly added 13 for the Mustang boys who fell to 6-12 overall and 3-8 in the DVL.
