The local community has organized a craft and bake sale on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. The event will begin July 4, and will run every Saturday through August 15. Casino White Cloud is graciously allowing us to set up in the Bingo Hall. Vendors are welcome and there is no charge to set up. Stop by each Saturday to play some games and shop local.

Brownville Education Center for Arts and Humanities (BECAH) will host its annual summer fundraiser – a whole hog barbeque on Saturday, July 18, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Village Hall in downtown Brownville Main Street.

Greg Gubser and crew will set up the night before to begin the full hog roast process, which takes about 12 hours plus many more hours for preparation of the meat. Josh Sierks, another member of the team, will be using one of his antique tractors and an old-fashioned ice cream churn to create a sweet treat for all hog roast goers.

Funds raised will support the nonprofit BECAH initiatives to offer cultural, historical, and fine arts programming at the Antiquarium, the former Brownville School.

"Do NOT come to the Hawk Reunion on Sunday, June 7^th because this year the 110th Annual Hawk Reunion will be held on Saturday, July 18th at the Effingham Blue Building and City Park.  Check in will begin at 4:00, with a parade beginning at 4:30.  We'll eat around 5:30 with pulled pork and drinks provided.  Please bring sides and desserts to supplement the meal. Celebrate 110 years of annual get togethers, and we're having a party!  Music and dancing, games for all ages, prizes, and NO MEETING, just fun!  But not until July 18th!  See you then!"
