On Friday of this week, the Morrill Public Library invites area seniors to Senior Socials from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library's large meeting room.

Enjoy an afternoon of games, snacks, conversation, and friendship in a welcoming atmosphere.

Senior Socials are held on the first and third Fridays of each month at the Morrill Public Library. We hope to see you there!

Beginning immediately and until further notice the state Veteran Service Officer for Brown County will no longer be meeting for in person conferences at Homer White American Legion Post 66 in Hiawatha. Veterans needing assistance should call 785-338-2848.  This number will connect you with a Veteran Service Officer who will be able to answer and assist you with any questions you may have.

The Axtell Knights of Columbus Council 1163 are having their annual food drive from October 1st through November 14th. The theme is: "Buy a Case for the Hungry". All food will be purchased from Axtell Community Grocery Store in Axtell. Everything is priced per case. All food will be distributed locally to the Marshall County Food Pantry in Marysville and the Nemaha County Food Pantry in Seneca, KS. Please place your donation order that you choose at the grocery store located at 405 Maple Street, Axtell, Kansas. Cash donations will also be accepted. We also accept monetary donations if any individual, organization or company would like to donate to the food drive. Sign up for the Nemaha County Christmas Bureau is November 4th & 6th 7 am to 9 am and 5pm to 7pm in Seneca at the United Methodist Church. November 5th & 6th 7 am to 9 am and 5pm to 7pm in Sabetha at the City Hall Commissioners Room.Both locations on November 7th 9am to 11 am. Must provide 2025 tax return or 2026 proof of household income.
