Two to Share Sheriff's Investigator Title

(KMZA)--Two current Nemaha County Sheriff’s deputies will share the title of investigator.

Sheriff Rich Vernon informed the Nemaha County Commission this week that he plans to have Josh Winkler and Jerry Birdsley share the position.

Both will be given a 50 an hour raise for assuming the extra duties, which became effective October 21st.

Steve Linden, who had held the position of investigator, retired in September  of last year.

Vernon also informed the Commission of several other new hires.

He says he’s hired Alishia Hynek, of Seneca, to fill a vacant full-time corrections officer position.  Hynek will begin work October 30th at a salary of $13.01 an hour.

Vernon also said he has hired Whitney Weaver, of Seneca, to fill an open full-time dispatcher position, effective October 30th.  She had served as a relief dispatcher.

In addition, Vernon says he’s hired Chris Mooney as a relief corrections officer.   Mooney has already begun work.
