(KAIR)--An Atchison man lands behind bars after allegedly threatening a family member.

“It was about 4:30 p.m. On Wednesday when our officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of North Eighth,” Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson tells MSC News. “It was determined that a subject had threatened another family member with a knife. He was taken into custody for aggravated assault.”

The suspect is identified as 67-year-old Dwight Downing. He was booked into the Atchison County Jail on the charge.
