(KNZA)--Police have identified the victim of a weekend homicide at a popular St. Joseph park.

KQ2-TV reports the victim has been identified as 17-year-old Kaytlin Root.

Root’s body was discovered by a jogger Sunday morning in Krug Park off of the bike trails.

Her body was sent to Kansas City for an autopsy.

Police are continuing to investigate the case and no additional information is being released at this time.
