(MSC News)--Don't forget to register to vote.
That word comes as voter registration comes to a close, with the deadline set for today.
Atchison County Clerk Pauline Lee says those who need to register must produce legal proof of citizenship, which includes a birth certificate or passport.
Registration can be done in the County Clerk's office or online.
Advance voting is also set to begin, starting Monday.
Lee says a first ever for Atchison County will be included with that process, as satellite voting locations will be offered.
The first will be Wednesday, October 26, at Muscotah City Hall, where advance ballots can be cast from 9:00 until noon. That afternoon, from 1:30 until 4:30, voters can vote in advance at Lancaster City Hall from 1:30 until 4:30.
On Friday, October 28, advance ballots can be cast at the Effingham Municipal Blue Building, from 9:00 that morning until 2:00 that afternoon.
Numerous elections will be decided during the general election, which is held November 8.
Two separate forums are planned for this evening, to allow voters to see first hand a selection of candidates they will be choosing.
One will happen at the Onaga Community Center, from 6:00 until 9:00, held by the Pottawatomie County Republican Party.
The other will be held on the campus of Highland Community College, in the Culbertson Auditorium, starting at 6:00.
That forum, held in conjunction with MSC Radio News, will be live streamed at mscnews.net.
