(KMZA)--A candidate for a position on the Marshall County Commission is no longer running for the seat.   

Alison Slifer has withdrawn from the race for 3rd District Commissioner.

She petitioned this summer to gain a place on the ballot as an independent candidate.

The Marysville Advocate reports Slifer, formerly of Vermillion, has withdrawn from the race because she recently moved to Manhattan.  

However, her name will still appear on the November 8th ballot because its too late to have her name removed.  

Marshall County Clerk Sonya Stohs told the newspaper that the ballots were printed in early September and the name would have had to be removed before September 1st.

Also vying for the position are Democrat Pat Caffrey and Republican Lynn Feldhausen, both of Frankfort.
