(KAIR)--More than two years in prison.

That’s the sentence handed down to the man who spurred a police chase in late August of this year in Atchison.

39-year-old Morrill resident William Gehring was sentenced Oct. 7 in Atchison County District Court on a charge of felony fleeing and eluding a police officer. He’ll serve 16 months for that charge.

However, he's also charged in a previous case for possession of methamphetamine. Gehring was sentenced to one year in prison in that case—to be served after the previous sentence.
