(KAIR)--20 area programs and agencies benefit through a donation made by a local tribe.
On Thursday, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation made the presentation of $83,000 during a ceremony held on the Tribe's reservation, near Mayetta.
The Tribe, each quarter, distributes funding awards earmarked for selected recipients that a press release calls those who promote "community stewardship and long term sustainability of resources for Kansas."
Among those selected to receive a portion of the funds are USD 336 North Jackson, Big Brothers Big Sisters, We-Ta-Se American Legion Post 410, the American Cancer Society, and the USD 337 Royal Valley Schools.
In 2015, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation donated more than $300,000 to the northeast Kansas area.
