(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Council members heard reports concerning the swimming pool renovation project when they met this week. 

The flooring project is nearing completion and other renovation projects are underway. Council member Mark Sunneberg Jr. reported that Southeast Nebraska Development District is working to complete a grant application for funds from the Peter Kiewit Foundation. If awarded, the money would be used as part of the City funds required for the 50-50 match for the Nebraska Game and Parks Land and Water Grant. 

Fundraising efforts are continuing. The matching grant can be worth up to $87,500 but requires an equal match.
