Shawn D Hankla, 41, of Ponca City was taken into custody Thursday morning. He was arrested and held on the charge Lewd Acts with a child under age 15.

The crime was reported to the Ponca City Police Department Wednesday night when the child was taken to Ponca City Alliance Health for treatment of injuries.

An officer responded and took an initial report and then a Detective Sergeant was assigned the case.

New charges of forcibly sodomy and attempted rape have been added as the investigation has developed.
