(MSC News)--The effort to recall a Leavenworth County Commissioner moves forward.
The Leavenworth Times reports the group seeking the recall of 1st District Commissioner Bob Holland can now begin the process of obtaining the needed number of signatures required for a recall election. That's due to the County Attorney's determination that the group's reason for the move is lawfully valid.
Holland, a Republican, represents most of northern Leavenworth County, including a portion of the City of Leavenworth.
He was re-elected to a second term in 2014.
The newspaper reports that the opposition group believes “Holland has failed to perform his duties as a commissioner because of violations of the Kansas Open Meetings Law.
