(KNZA)--The Hiawatha City Commission has approved an increase in fees for reserved shelter rentals at the City Lake

The Commission last week approved a resolution increasing fees to $10 for up to 4 hours rental, $20 for over 4 hours up to 8 hours rental and to $30 for all day rental over 8 hours.

City Administrator Mike Nichols recommended increasing the fees, which had been $5 for all or part of the day.  

The new fees took effect September 20th.
