(MSC News)--An Elwood, Kansas man has been sentenced to six years in prison for a shooting in downtown St. Joseph earlier this year that left another man injured.
The St. Joseph News Press reports Angel Maisonet-Laboy was sentenced Thursday in a Buchanan County courtroom on a charge of second-degree assault.
Maisonet-Laboy pleaded guilty to the charge in July.
Prosecutors say Maisonet-Laboy shot a man during a fight outside a bar in downtown St. Joseph in May.
He was ordered to pay more than $4,000 restitution to the victim for his medical bills.
