(KNZA)--The boil water advisory for the Brown County communities of Horton and Willis has been lifted.
The advisory was issued Tuesday evening because of a loss of pressure due to a water main break in the city of Horton. Inadequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said Thursday that
laboratory testing samples collected from the City of Horton public water supply indicate no evidence of contamination and all other conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination are deemed by the agency to be resolved.
As a result, water customers no longer need to boil the water they use for drinking or cooking.
