The Highway Patrol reports that the intersection of State Highway 98 and U.S. Highway 70, two miles east of Valliant in McCurtain County, was reopened at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
A fatal accident occurred there Monday involving a loaded semi gasoline tanker and a pickup truck.
The tanker released several thousand gallons of gasoline. Hazardous material recovery crews removed as much of the fuel as possible and coated the remaining areas with a substance to neutralize the fuel on the road and in the ground.
The Patrol evacuated an area within 1,000 feet of the accident and barricaded the roads to traffic for more than 20 hours.
