Marietta man arrested in wife's shooting

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested a Marietta man at the Carter County Jail Monday on a complaint of shooting his wife with intent to kill.

Just before 5 a.m. Monday, the Love County Sheriff's office called OSBI requesting assistance with a shooting in Marietta after a man called from that location saying he accidentally shot his wife. Investigators found 34-year-old April Hudson with a gunshot wound to her upper torso.

She was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and is listed in fair condition.

Multiple special agents and a crime scene investigator spent the day conducting interviews and gathering evidence at the scene. James Preston Hudson, 35, was arrested at the Carter County Sheriff's Office and transported to the Love County Jail.
