LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An Oklahoma-based tribe has given $400,000 to a group working to legalize casinos in three Arkansas counties.

According to a campaign finance report filed Thursday, Cherokee Nation Businesses made the contribution in August to Arkansas Winning Initiative Inc., which is pushing the proposed constitutional amendment allowing casinos in Boone, Miller and Washington counties.   

The tribe, based in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, gave $1 million to the effort in June. Arkansas Winning Initiative has said that Cherokee Nation Businesses would operate the Washington County casino in northwest Arkansas if the measure passes.

The group also reported receiving a $100,000 loan from Marc Williams of Branson, Missouri, in August.

A group fighting the casino measure received more than $100,000 in August from the operators of Arkansas' two racetracks, which both allow electronic gambling.
