The Ponca City Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution Monday night authorizing Mayor Homer Nicholson to sign a grant agreement between the City of Ponca City and the Federal Aviation Administration to install an Omni-Directional Lighting System (ODALS) for a runway at the Ponca City Regional Airport.
If approved by the FAA, the grant would pay 90 percent of the $291,115 cost for the system, or $262,003. The City of Ponca City would pay the remaining 10 percent, or $29,112.
The grant is contingent upon the FAA approving and funding the project. The City’s 10 percent will be charged to Airport Capital Improvements.
The resolution acknowledges the city and FAA have had a long-term partnership in making improvements to the Ponca City Regional Airport.
