(KNZA)--A Kansas City man is jailed in Jackson County, arrested on drug related charges Sunday, following a traffic stop.
The Missouri resident is identified as 38-year-old Galen Potts, who faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hallucinogens, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement, driving on a revoked license, no insurance, illegal registration, and transporting an open container.
Sheriff Tim Morse says it was the registration violation that caught the attention of a Deputy who spotted Potts driving near 102nd and U.S. Highway 75, in southern Jackson County.
It's alleged that when the Deputy attempted to stop him, Potts began throwing something out of the window of his vehicle, which Morse says was later determined to be illegal drug contraband.
At the time of his arrest, Potts was also wanted on an outstanding Labette County, Kansas warrant.
