Construction worker falls to his death in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A man working on a 15-story building under construction in downtown Oklahoma City fell to his death when he apparently drove a piece of equipment off the 14th floor of the building.

Oklahoma City District Fire Chief Benny Fulkerson says the man fell shortly before 11:30 a.m. Friday and was dead at the scene. The man's name was not immediately released and Fulkerson said there were no other injuries.

Fulkerson says the man was driving a scissor lift, which is used to raise or lower objects.

Streets in the area were closed early Friday afternoon and Fulkerson said the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified of the accident.
