(KAIR)--The victim of a fatal Platte County, Missouri crash has been identified.

According to the Platte County Sheriff's Office, Weston resident Shannon Kay Smither was the driver of the pickup that crashed on the morning of September 4.

The 42-year-old Smither was traveling alone on P Highway, a mile north of Hardesty, when her northbound truck left the roadway and struck a tree.

The Sheriff's Office says the deadly crash happened around 6:30 that morning.

The exact cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
