(KAIR)--A special fundraising event is happening this Saturday in Brown County.
“Hiawatha Ford has generously offered to do a ‘drive-one for your community’ event with Brown County Humane Society being the beneficiary of the funds,” said Brown County Humane Society Manager Phyllis Schaefer. “For every person that comes out and does a short test drive, Ford donates $20 to us. We can get up to $6,000 if we can get 300 people to do the test drives.”
She says events such as these are integral for the survival of the humane society as they rely solely on donations to operate.
“We will have the humane society van out there and if people want to bring donations: cat liter, dog food, cat food, toys, collars—any of the things that we might need here at the shelter to stuff the van, that would be appreciated to,” Schaefer said.
The fundraiser will happen from 8:00 Saturday morning and last until 2:00 in the afternoon.
“We are going to bring some of our pets out—some dogs and kittens—and maybe some of them will find homes,” she added.
A free lunch will also be provided by Hiawatha Ford beginning at 11:30.
