The Mayor’s Historic Preservation Advisory Panel invites you to a reception in honor of the 123rd birthday of the City of Ponca City.
The receptiion will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, in the Commission Chamber at City Hall, 516 East Grand Avenue.
The reception will be held prior to the regularly scheduled Commission meeting at
5:30 p.m. Both the reception and meeting are open to the general public.
At the reception, the panel will recognize the recently designated National Register sites which have significantly contributed to the historic preservation effort in Ponca City. These sites have been documented as paramount in educating the public on our past and furthering our historic preservation ethic, not only in the vicinity of Ponca City, but in the state of
Oklahoma as a whole.
Please attend the reception to help recognize the importance of the founding of our community on Sept. 21, 1893; the designation of September as “Local History Month” by the City Commission in 2005; and to recognize the National Register sites and their collective restoration work.
