Stolen Truck Found; Whiting Man Goes To Jail

(KNZA)--A Whiting man goes to jail, accused of stealing a pickup truck that authorities say he tried to sale online.

Arrested is 33-year-old Aaron Joseph Bellinghausen, who now faces charges for possession of stolen property, in connection with the theft of a 1977 Ford F-250 that was reported stolen in Topeka in May of 2015.

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says Bellinghausen was taken into custody on a warrant related to the crime on Tuesday.

Investigators were led to Bellinghausen after the owner of the truck noticed that it was being sold on Craigslist, and contacted the Sheriff's Office. Morse says his office matched a Craigslist photo of the truck with a residence, south of Whiting, where the vehicle had been kept. However, the truck was gone when law enforcement arrived at that location, but further investigation led them to the Bellinghausen's residence in the City of Whiting, where the pickup was located.

Following his apprehension, Bellinghausen was booked into the Jackson County Jail on a bond of $10,000.
