Shooting Victim Pleads Guilty

(KAIR)--Guilty.

That’s the plea from the the Topeka man shot in the chest in June in Atchison County, but who also faced criminal charges in the incident.

30-year-old Bradley Schlicker entered guilty pleas Friday in Atchison County District Court on charges of criminal use of weapon and possession of methamphetamine.

The charges stem from a June 4 shooting at a rural Atchison County home that left Schlicker severely wounded.

When deputies responded to the domestic disturbance, they discovered meth as well as Schlicker in possession of a firearm.

Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie said, based on Schlicker’s criminal history, it was illegal for him to posses that firearm.

Schlicker will learn his sentence Oct 14.

The other person arrested for the incident, 35-year-old Valley Falls resident Nicole Fox, learned her fate mere weeks ago in Atchison County District Court.

She was sentenced to 20 months in prison on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine.

But charges didn’t end there for Fox, as she snuck meth into the Atchison County Jail during her arrest, according to Laurie. In that case, she was sentenced to 49 months in prison for trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.
