Pawhuska girl injured in collision

A 17-year-old Pawhuska girl was injured in a collision about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on State Highway 99, just north of County Road 5001, 1.7 miles north of Wynona in Osage County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

The girl was driving a 2002 Infinity G20 southbound on State Highway 99 when she departed  the roadway to the right. She overcorrected  to the left, leaving the roadway on the left and going into a broad slide. Her car traveled down a ditch and rolled 3/4 times, coming to rest on the driver's side.

The driver was not pinned, but had to be extricated by the Hominy EMS.

She was transported by Hominy EMS to the Pawhuska emergency room, then flown to St. Frances by AirEvac and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, arm, and leg injuries.

The Highway Patrol reported the driver fell asleep.
