(KLZA)-- Unemployment figures can be described as a mixed bag for Southeast Nebraska for July, with higher numbers in four of six counties.
According to the Nebraska Department of Labor, Nemaha County had the highest unemployment rate in the area at 5 percent. That's the second highest rate among Nebraska’s 93 counties.
Otoe County had an unemployment rate of 4 percent, which is tied for 8th highest.
Unemployment rates were also higher in Richardson County, at 3.4 percent, and Gage County, at 3.9 percent.
Unemployment rates dipped in Pawnee County to 2.7 percent and Johnson County to 3.3 percent.
Nebraska had a 3.1 percent unemployment rate in July, which is tied for the third best in the country with North Dakota.
