(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Council has approved a proposal from Prochaska & Associates, an engineering firm from Omaha, to work on the Pawnee City Swimming Pool renovation project.
City Council member Mark Sunneberg contacted the firm. He told the Council their fees of just over $15,000, are half of what another firm had quoted. Changes beyond the additional scope of work would be billed at the company’s hourly rate.
In related action, the Council this week approved a contract with Southeast Nebraska Development District to provide administrative services for the pool project at a cost not to exceed $3,500.
Pawnee City has been awarded a reimbursable, matching grant worth up $87,500 from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for the project. Hopes are to have the project completed in time for the pool to reopen in May, 2017.
