(KLZA)-- Pawnee City voters will be asked to say yay or nay to a half-cent sales tax in November.
That follows a unanimous vote Monday of the Pawnee City Council regarding the sales, to be used to fund a large-scale street improvement project.
The proposal includes an 8-year, interlocal agreement with the Pawnee City School District.
It is possible that another agreement could be reached once the original 8-year agreement runs out.
City Attorney Joe Stehlik will create the ballot language for the half-percent sales tax levy proposal.
City Council President Sandi Corbitt-Sears presided during the meeting due to the absence of Mayor Charles Hatfield.
