(KLZA)-- Mark Kunkel has been named as the new Big Lake State Park Superintendent.

The Mound City News reports Kunkel has worked at the park for over 30 years and will replace Rusty Burge who retired this summer.

Kunkel is a Mound City native. The Missouri State Parks, a division of Missouri Department of natural Resources, recently announced the appointment.
