Vacancy on Horton City Commission

(KNZA)--There's a vacancy on the Horton City Commission.

The vacancy was created due to the resignation of Lonnie Boller, who served as Parks and Recreation Commissioner.

Boller, who was appointed to the position last November following the death of Commissioner Al Barton, submitted his letter of resignation Friday, which was effective immediately.

No reason was stated for the resignation.

According to a release from the city, the Commission must appoint someone to the position within 10 days.

Those interested in filling the vacancy are being asked to submit a letter of interest to the Commission at City Hall by 2:00 p.m. on August 29th.

The Commission will review the letters and talk with the candidates during their meeting that evening.

The person appointed to the position will fill the remainder of the term, which is set to expire in January 2020.

Those with questions can call the Horton City Hall at 486-2681.
