(KAIR)--An arrest is made after a man allegedly shoots his step-son in Jefferson County Wednesday night.
Sheriff Jeff Herrig tells MSC News deputies responded to the report of the shooting shortly before 11:00. “[Deputies were] dispatched to 2615 Ellsworth Road, which is in rural Perry, for a domestic dispute which resulted in a gunshot wound. By the time the officers got there, the victim had already left to go to St. Francis Hospital [in Topeka] by private vehicle.”
The victim is identified as 27-year-old Brian Manis.
Taken into custody is 30-year-old Carl Kester.
Facing a charge of aggravated battery, Kester remains in the Jefferson County Jail.
At last check, Manis was reported to be in serious but stable condition.
