(KNZA)--The Hiawatha Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident Monday morning.
Police Chief John Defore says the two-vehicle non-injury accident occurred at the intersection of 6th Street and Kansas Avenue.
He says the vehicle was attempting to turn west onto Kansas Avenue from 6th Street and then fled the scene north on 6th Street.
The vehicle is described as a gray mid-2000’s Dodge Dakota pickup, with front end damage to the driver side including the headlight assembly.
The vehicle was driven by a balding white male in his 40’s, with black hair and a beard. He also wore small wire rimmed glasses.
Anyone with information on the subject or vehicle is asked to contact Investigator Mickey Gruber at the Hiawatha Police Department at 785-742-2156.
