(KNZA)--A northeast Kansas man has been charged in Buchanan County, Missouri with felony enticement of a child.
The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office says 73-year-old Highland resident James Hopkins is accused of trying to solicit a child under the age of 13 to perform a sex act.
According to court documents, the alleged offense occurred on July 5th at the Carnegie Branch Library in the 300 block of Massachusetts in St. Joseph .
Hopkins is being held in the Buchanan County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond.
He’s scheduled to appear in a Buchanan County courtroom Tuesday for arraignment.
