(KMZA)--The Seneca Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $118,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Fire Chief Tom Scott says the grant will be used for the purchase of new self contained breathing apparatus.
The city will provided a 5 percent match, or $5,900.
Scott says it will allow every firefighter to have their own pack. He says the new units feature longer breathing times and weigh less than the old units they are replacing.
