Pawnee City Economic Development Report

(KLZA)-- During their August 8th meeting, Pawnee City Council members reviewed the semi-annual audit of the Pawnee City Development Corporation from Suzanne Borcher with the Citizens Advisory Board.

Borcher’s report indicates there may be a need to take a look at the groups economic development grant program. There have been no applications for grant funds in the past six months. The PCDC plans to re-evaluate the program and attempt to make businesses more aware of the grant program.

The report strong recommends using funds to help someone start a new laundromat and an evening restaurant. The feeling is these types of businesses would help with keeping construction workers in town while they are in the area.

The PCDC is also working to recruit a dentist to the community and continue to work on the burnt building refurbishment project in downtown Pawnee City.
