(KNZA)--The proposed 2016-17 budget for South Brown County USD 430 contains a nearly 6 mill property tax levy decrease.
The USD 430 Board of Education approved the proposed budget for publication during their meeting Monday evening.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Davies says they were able to lower the tax levy due to a 7. 7 percent increase in the district’s assessed valuation.
The budget contains an estimated tax rate of 46.47 mills. Davies says a mill will raise just over $32,000.
He says he feels they have developed a strong, positive budget.
The Board will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing when they meet the evening of August 22nd.
