(KMZA)--The Seneca Volunteer Fire Department will be getting new radios.
The Seneca City Council last Wednesday evening approved the purchase of the hand held and dash-mounted digital radio’s from Haug Communications of Seneca for a cost of $39,601.
Fire Chief Tom Scott said the current analog radios need to be replaced so the department will be able to communicate with other emergency service providers. He said the radios haven’t been replaced since he has been with the department more than 17 years.
The cost of the radios will be shared by the townships served by the fire department based on assessed valuation.
