(KNZA)--The Doniphan County Community of Troy has a new chief of police.

The Kansas Chief reports the Troy City Council recently approved the promotion of part-time officer Scott Hirtler to the position of chief.

He will serve in the role on a part-time basis.

Hirtler also serves as a full-time deputy with the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department.

He replaces Holly Norris who resigned in order to return to Elwood as a police officer.
