Falls City Utility Rates Going Up

(KLZA)-- Rates will be increasing for Falls City Utility Department customers on October 1. 

The City Council Monday evening gave final approval to three years of increases.

Water rates will increase 10.7% in year one, 9.7% in year two and 3% in year three.

Electric rates will increase 8% each of the first two years and 3.8% in year three.

The gas rates will increase 2.9% in year one, and 3% in years two and three.

Sewer rates will  increase 4% the first two years and 3% in year three.

The average utility bill for a Falls City residential customer will increase by $10.27, with the biggest jump in the electric rate at $6.11.
