Former Casino Worker Gets Probation

(KNZA)--Five years of federal probation.

That's the sentence handed down Monday for a former tribal casino employee who pleaded guilty to embezzlement.

According to the Office of the U.S. Attorney, 32-year Donald Collins, of Wetmore, entered the plea to one count of embezzlement and theft from an Indian tribal organization.

In his plea, Collins admitted that the crime happened while he worked as a Player's Club Representative for the Sac and Fox Casino, owned by the Sac and Fox Nation of Kansas and Nebraska.

Authorities say Collins made counterfeit player cards and placed unearned free play on player cards belonging to his friends. Those cards were then played by Collins and others, with the value of the counterfeits, along with winnings made through their use, causing a total loss to the casino of nearly $31,000.
